I have made Memory Boxes for all types of occasions, from weddings and births, through to retirements and boxes celebrating the life of a loved one who has passed. That is a tricky question to answer as it depends on so many factors, like how big you would like your Memory Box to be. How many items are included and the complexity including them. I would usually advice you allow at least 2 months from filling in the initial enquiry form to completion.

Once we have had our initial chat and the stage 2 questionnaire has been complete I will be able to give a more accurate answer to this.

If you are thinking of commissioning a box as a gift for someone who loves, cycling, for example it is possible for me to collect vintage items to include in your Memory Box. Please note there is an additional cost to this service and adds more time to the process.

I mostly fix items down with wire, but acetate strips, adhesives and needle and thread are also used to fix items down.

If you have a particularly precious item that is extremely fragile or needs repairing I will do this to the best of my ability, however if needed I would consult with a professional conservator if I was concerned. This would be agreed with you in advance, including any additional cost.

Due to the depth the items included in these Memory Boxes we are fairly restricted in terms of framing options. The frames I use are made from a FSC-certified wood and come in a choice of walnut and matt black. I also use Artglass AR 70 as standard, this is glass which is anti-reflective and will protect your precious items from the damaging effects of UV rays.
